Yorkshire born singer and teacher Eleonore Cockerham began performing internationally as a soloist from the age of 12. Eleonore received her First Class Honours degree in vocal performance from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, where she studied under the tutelage of mezzo soprano, Louise Winter. In 2017, Eleonore auditioned for vocal ensemble, VOCES8 where she was selected to join the group as the youngest of their full time members from over 500 applicants. Touring across the globe, Eleonore performed around 130 concerts a year with the ensemble, as well as leading workshops with students of all ages and abilities. Some highlights from travelling with VOCES8 include performances at Sydney Opera House, Tokyo Opera City, Palacio de Bellas Artes, Mexico, and BBC Proms at Cadogan Hall, London. After nearly 4 years, Eleonore chose to step down as a full time member of the group in order to give more time to her family, friends, and faith.  Now as a freelance musician, Eleonore sings and teaches in a range of styles (classical, choral, folk, pop), continuing her choral singing with groups such as VOCES8, The VOCES8 Foundation choir, Apollo5, Kantos Chamber Choir, Ensemble Altera, Meridian, while also expanding her repertoire as a soloist with performances across the UK, USA and Europe (please see below for upcoming performance dates). Some recent solo work includes an early twentieth century and contemporary song programme with Manchester Camerata at Wigmore Hall, London in October 2025, and a traditional performance of Handel’s Messiah with the Szczecin Philharmonic, Poland in December 2025. Eleonore also has plenty of recording experience featuring on several albums with VOCES8, Ensemble Altera, Jacob Collier, Sarah Beattie, Joyful Noise, Kantos Chamber Choir and features as a soprano soloist on the soundtrack to feature film 'The Last Duel', and in season 4 of the Netflix series, 'The Crown'.  ​
